Independent Therapy
Hop Skip Jump provides a range of independent therapy services based out of Oxford. Based on our expertise in occupational therapy and cognitive behaviour therapy, we can provide assessment and individual therapy sessions for a range of difficulties your child may be experiencing, such as difficulties with:
- gross/fine motor skills coordination, planning and sequencing
- emotional recognition, regulation and self calming
- low mood, anxieties, self esteem
Assessment
Evaluation reports include the assessment and observation results, recommendations, and high level targets. Occasionally, a child may find it difficult to engage during the assessment, in which case the therapist will try to source additional information from those close to him in order to complete the report. If your child has a very specific need such as fine motor and handwriting, then an assessment can be tailored and a cost agreed beforehand. A full occupational therapy assessment is recommended if beginning OT for the first time, if your child hasn't been assessed within the last two years or needs a full progress review.
Full Occupational Therapy assessment involves assessing motor skills, visual perceptual skills, a sensory profile. The report includes results, high level recommendations and sensory activities. A 30 minute parent feedback discussion is available.
A review or shorter assessment looks at one aspect in particular that has been previously prioritised for your child or that your child has been working on in OT, such as motor skills only. The report includes progress review and high level recommendations.
