Stephanie Kucan

Stephanie is therapist and director of Hop Skip Jump, having established her own practice after working for the independent school system. She began working life as a research assistant in healthcare and went on to work as a business analyst.
Being more interested in working directly with people, Stephanie undertook her Occupational Therapy studies at the University of Sydney, and more recently Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at University College London.
Undertaking Sensory Integration post-graduate training focussed her attention on the sensory processing difficulties children with such disorders have, and she uses a combination of play and sensory integration therapy to help children engage with the world around them. She is interested in the link between sensory processing and behaviour and has since done specialist training in sensory feeding and eating difficulties, and attachment disorder. With the charity OASIS, Stephanie has created and run social skills workshops with a sensory framework. She works in local schools, homes and online, developing close ties with teachers and parents. She has also written papers about her work for professional journals.
Stephanie has good links with NHS clinicians and has been involved with the diagnosis and multi-disciplinary assessment process. She is a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council and a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists. Her broad aim is to make therapy a part of everyday life, and is an advocate of taking therapy outdoors!
Stephanie has three children, a dog, a cat and is thinking about a rabbit, though don't tell her children that : )
